ud+hc is a Private Health Services Plan that enables business owners and self-employed individuals to deduct bona fide medical (healthcare and dental) costs as a business expense.

How much can you save?

 

Canadian Customs & Revenue Agency (CCRA)
While ud+hc has been designed to comply with CCRA guidelines, please note that regulations are subject to changes, interpretations and rulings by CCRA from time to time. A CCRA ruling and/or interpretaton would be final in any claim dispute situation.

•Laser eye surgery
•Cosmetic surgery, e.g. hair transplants
•Rehabilitation treatment
•Therapy for special needs children
•Weight reduction therapy
•Fertility treatment
•Maintenance costs for guide dogs for the visually handicapped.

Coverage is guaranteed
With ud+hc a client is guaranteed basic coverage. There are no pre-existing condition obstacles to overcome. (some optional benefits are subject to qualification)

Advance payment to physicians
Physicians and hospitals may require payment prior to treatment.
Unlike most insurance companies, ud+hc will accommodate pre-payment.

Joining the program
Becoming a
ud+hc client entails completing an application and a one-time $200 set-up fee.

Convenient claims adjudication
Claims are processed in British Columbia within 15 working days. The administration fee is 15% of the cost of the claim.

Expenses already incurred
You may still be able to use the ud+hc program for medical expenses previously incurred by you and/or your dependents.

Who can be covered?
Business owners can establish a
ud+hc program for themselves and/or key employees (dependents can also be covered). Unlike group insurance, ud+hc plans are custom designed for individuals.

Is there a limit to amounts?
Corporation:
There is no dollar limit to the amount of claims a corporation can deduct as a business expense.

Self employed (unincorporated) with employees:
No limit where a self-employed person has employees and at least 50% are also covered.

Self employed (unincorporated) without employees:
The annual maximums are: $1,500 for himself/herself $1,500 for a spouse $750 per dependent child (an insured plan rather than ud+hc is recommended).
