Andrew Block CEBS
President
Andrew is the President of Delta Pacific Benefit Brokers Ltd. which he founded in 1994 and has worked in the Employee Benefit field since 1986.
He has obtained the designation of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and Dalhousie University. He also holds the sub designations of Group Benefits Associate (GBA) and Retirement Plans Associate (RPA).
Andrew is innovative. He designed the bettercare™ individual health plan for London Drugs in 1998 and recently the Migrant Workers Insurance Plan (www.mwip.ca), for Canadian employers employing migrant workers. He also has a registered trademark for universal dental + healthcare™ , which is marketed as a Private Health Services Plan (PHSP).
Andrew was formerly an Executive Vice President with Jardine Lloyd Thompson Inc. and a Marsh Limited Assistant Vice President and Manager. He has broad exposure to Employee Benefits and has marketed employee benefit plans, retirement plans and special risk insurance to affinity groups including the Chamber of Commerce, and Canadian Manufacturers Association.
In 1999 Andrew raised the capital for the Delbrook Private Ambulatory Surgical Centre project and was the company president. The special knowledge Andrew has in this area has allowed him to be innovative with respect to disability case management and the emerging area of private medical insurance. This niche differentiates his company in the Employee Benefit Industry.
Andrew has been the guest speaker at many service clubs and business organizations on the subject of private versus public healthcare. He has been a guest on local radio talk shows on the topic of accessing medical services.
Andrew is a member of the North Delta Rotary Club, and past treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club Community Services Delta Richmond. In 2007 he received the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award and was nominated for Delta’s citizen of the year award in 2009.
